Outreach Opportunities

Long Beach Food Pantry

The Long Beach Food Pantry has reopened on Second St. near O'Malley Ball Park in Long Beach. We support this community ministry (sponsored by First Baptist Church in Long Beach) by a monthly offering collected on the 1st Sunday of each month.

Christmas Families

Each year St. Patrick's adopts a number of families to assist at Christmas time. A list of gifts desired, as well as clothing sizes and basic needs, are posted at Sunday services. Members of the Parish contribute money, clothing, and gifts. Deacon Lynne Hough co-ordinates this project, see Lynne or call the church office if you have any questions.

IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network)

A network supported by churches and other organizations from Ocean Springs to Long Beach, IHN provides temporary housing for homeless families. The families must include children. IHN assists with childcare, places children in schools, helps the parents with work skills and in locating employment, and provides food and shelter. St. Patrick's participates in IHN with Grace Lutheran Church.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

This group meets monthly at the church office to knit and crochet prayer shawls for persons who are shut-ins, ill or in need of support. Some participants are also working on items to donate for children. You do not have to know how to knit or crochet to become part of this ministry - beginners are welcome. If you would like to try this out please contact the church office.

Packages for Service Personnel

A service project of the Wednesday morning Bible Study, packages are sent to military personnel from the parish who are serving away from home, especially in Iraq or Afghanistan.
