Marking the Anniversary of Katrina
“A
Service of Remembrance and Hope”
Held on Sunday August 27, 2006 “A Service of Remembrance and
Hope” took place in the outdoor chapel at our beach site at
452 W. Beach Blvd., Long
Beach. We had a wonderful turnout and beautiful (moderate -
90's) weather.
Bishop Gray was with us as our celebrant.

Hands Across the Coast – Hurricane Katrina Commemoration
We met on the beach in front of the St. Patrick's church
property (452 W. Beach Blvd., Long Beach) at 2:30
pm Sunday, August 27, 2006 to join with others up and down the Coast
for 2 minutes of silence. The Rector of The Church of the
Redeemer, The
Rev. Harold Roberts, came up with this idea for a commemoration on
the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

St. Patrick's folks and neighbors join hands for "Hands Across the

Prayer for St. Patrick’s
O Lord God of Israel,
the heavens cannot contain you,
yet you are pleased to dwell in the midst of your people,
and have moved us to set apart a space on which to rebuild a house of
prayer:
Send us your Spirit,
that we may learn what you would have us do,
and the words and witness you would have us offer.
Guide us as we continue your work;
show us the field in which to plant,
that your Kingdom may come and your power be revealed in this community;
to the glory of your Name.
Amen.
